Classic Banana Bread (With Chocolate Option)

1/4 cup butter

1 cup white sugar

1 beaten egg

3 mashed bananas

1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

1 tsp baking soda

1/4 tsp baking powder

1/4 tsp salt

Preheat oven to 350° and grease a loaf pan.

Cream together the butter and sugar, then add egg.

Sift together the flour, baking powder and salt. Combine the baking soda and bananas.

Alternate adding the flour and banana mixture to the butter mixture, a little at a time. When it is well combined, pour into loaf pan and bake for 45 minutes, or until toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Allow the loaf to cool before removing from the pan and serving.
