Herbed Rice

  • 3 TBSP butter
  • 1/4 cup chives or green onions, chopped
  • 2 cups rice
  • 1/2 tsp marjoram
  • 1/2 tsp rosemary
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 2 cups chicken stock
  1. In saucepan, melt butter and saute chives/onions until softened. Add rice and cook, stirring, until the rice is lightly browned.
  2. Add herbs, salt and chicken stock. Bring to boil, then cover tightly and simmer until rice is tender. (Use cooking times for the rice you are using.)
  1. Use whatever kind of rice (Minute Rice, jasmine, basmati) and spices you have on hand. A little Mrs. Dash replaces the spices nicely. (Jan 3, 2019)
